jkprowlin | Noticed the other day when moving my trailer that the tongue bar that attaches to the frame of the trailer can move approx 1/2 inch to the left and right... I have checked to ensure the the bolts are tight.. Wondering if other trailer owners can check their's and tell me if this is normal... Thanks Joe

Dave Mills | I have never noticed any "play" in mine. |
TLRandall | None of my three move at all. You have something loose under there! ------------------ 2001 Mulholland Edition Prowler and Trailer 2004 Ford F-150 FX-4 |
BeWare | No play in ours either. Something is amiss with yours. |
RPL | The trailers were boxed and shipped with a stubby bar in place of the tongue. The tongue was bolted in by the dealer after removing the trailer from the shipping crate. Make sure the tongue is secure BEFORE you tow the trailer again. |
jkprowlin | based on the responses, it looks like I may have a problem.. question now is other than the bolts being loose (which I'll double check) what else can I look for? Suggestions on how to proceed here ?? Thanks Joe

ed monahan | I would say that you need to check the bolts and then see if there is any play in it. Have someone else move it side to side while you are lying under it, looking at it to see where it is moving. If it is still loose, the holes are elongated and you need to drill slightly larger holes and get larger bolts. I doubt if you will need to do that. |
